Since a de facto ceasefire in August 1974, UNFICYP has supervised the ceasefire traces; offered humanitarian assistance and maintained a buffer zone. RAMSI will conclude on 30 June 2017 and shall be replaced with a bilateral program comprising policing, law & justice and governance. Police growth efforts, delivered by RAMSI’s Participating Police Force , are focused on establishing a Royal Solomon Islands Police Force that operates successfully and independently of RAMSI. The PPF is compiled of sworn and unsworn AFP members, along with members from New Zealand and different Pacific Island nations. We work alongside Pacific companions to ensure that they are sustainably managed for future generations. Beijing firmly opposes linking the Ukraine war to its relations with Moscow and has stated it’s going to defend the rights of Chinese people and companies.
